This page gets you from a video file to reviewing laps in under a minute.
1. Open a video
Do any one of these:
- Drag a video file from a folder and drop it onto the Player window.
- Choose File → Open Video… and pick a file.
- Double-click a video, if you've set the Player as your default
(see Opening Videos).
Supported formats include .mp4, .mov, .mkv, and .avi.
2. The five controls you'll use most
| Do this | Press |
|---|---|
| Play / pause | Space |
| Jump back / forward 10s | Left / Right |
| Slow down / speed up | − / + |
| Fullscreen | F11 |
| Save a screenshot | F12 |
That's enough to review any video. Everything else builds on these.
3. Mark a lap
When you reach the start of a lap, press Ctrl+L to drop a lap marker. Drop one at the start of each lap. Then:
- Open the notes drawer with N to see your markers listed with lap times.
- Click any marker to jump straight to it.
See Lap Markers for sector splits and editing.
4. Jot a note about the video
Press N to open the notes drawer and switch to the Description tab. Type anything — setup changes, conditions, what to fix next time. It saves automatically and travels with the video. See Video Description.
