Upload a video to LapInsight Cloud, YouTube, Vimeo, or Google Drive.
How To Upload
- In the Video List dock, right-click a video and choose the upload action for your platform (e.g. Upload to LapInsight Cloud...).
- The Upload dialog opens.
- Choose the provider (LapInsight Cloud, YouTube, Vimeo, or Google Drive).
- Set the access mode:
- Private — only accessible with the share link (LapInsight) or your account (YouTube/Vimeo). - Unlisted — accessible via link, not searchable (YouTube/Vimeo). - Public — visible to everyone (YouTube/Vimeo).
- Fill in the title and description (auto-populated from session metadata).
- Click Upload.
Which "description" is this? The description field in the Upload dialog is the description shown on the destination platform — for YouTube and Vimeo it is that site's video description (and lap markers/chapters are appended to it for YouTube). It is separate from the per-video Video Description you set in Review Mode, which is what the LapInsight Cloud video viewer shows.
Upload Progress
A progress indicator appears in the upload dialog. For large files, uploads can take several minutes. You can continue using LapInsight while uploading.
To see all active uploads, go to View → Upload Manager.
Chapters in YouTube Videos
If you have lap markers or chapters defined, LapInsight adds them to the YouTube video description in the standard chapters format. Viewers can click chapter titles to jump to those positions.
Compressed vs Original
LapInsight will suggest uploading the compressed version if one exists (smaller file, faster upload). To upload the original, choose it from the version selector in the upload dialog.
Watermarks on LapInsight Cloud Uploads
Whether your LapInsight Cloud uploads carry a watermark depends on your subscription tier:
- Free / trial: uploads carry the LapInsight watermark. It cannot be turned off on the desktop side; subscribe to remove it.
- Driver: uploads carry no watermark. Personal watermarks are not available on this tier.
- Coach: you can upload and manage a personal watermark in LapInsight Web. Once configured, you can choose its position and opacity per upload.
- Enterprise: your team admin can configure a team-branded watermark in LapInsight Web and choose whether to require it for all uploads. Coaches in an Enterprise team may also have a personal watermark available, depending on team policy.
The upload dialog shows the effective watermark above the Start button before you upload — for example, "Watermark: LapInsight watermark will be applied." If a "Manage in LapInsight Web →" link appears, click it to change the artwork or policy in the web app.
Watermark behaviour is enforced by LapInsight Cloud. Editing local files or settings cannot change what gets applied to an upload — the cloud is always the source of truth.
Upload Status
After a successful upload, the video in the Video List shows a cloud icon. Right-click → View Online to open it in a browser.
