Overview

View track layouts, define corners, and add overlays in the Track Map dock.

The Track Map dock displays the layout of the current track and supports a range of map formats and overlays.

What You Can Do

  • View the track layout during review and debrief.
  • Define corners — name and number each corner for use in Corner Feedback and reports.
  • Overlay GPS data — import KML or GeoJSON files to show GPS-derived track outlines.
  • Use online maps — switch to a satellite view (TomTom or Google Maps) with an internet connection.

Opening the Track Map Dock

Go to View → Track Map, or use the keyboard shortcut shown in Help → Shortcut Keys.

Map Source Priority

LapInsight selects the map source in this order:

  1. A custom map file you attached to the track (PDF, SVG, PNG, JPG).
  2. A KML/GeoJSON overlay.
  3. A map from the built-in track library.
  4. Online satellite view (if configured and connected).
