Supported Formats

  • PDF — vector maps from official circuit documentation. Best quality when zooming.
  • SVG — scalable vector; renders crisply at any size.
  • PNG / JPG — raster images from screenshots or scanned maps.
  • KML / GeoJSON — GPS-derived outlines from data logger exports or online sources.

How To Add a Map File

  1. Open the Track Map dock (View → Track Map).
  2. Click the map selector at the top of the dock and choose Manage Maps.
  3. Click Add File and browse to your map image.
  4. Give it a name and click OK.

The map is now associated with the current track and appears immediately.

Using the Built-In Library

LapInsight includes maps for common circuits. In the map selector dropdown, choose Library to see what's available for the current track.

Adding from a KML/GeoJSON File

  1. In the map selector, choose Add KML/GeoJSON Overlay.
  2. Browse to the .kml or .geojson file.
  3. LapInsight renders the GPS track outline as a vector overlay.

Tip: Most data loggers (AiM, MoTeC, VBox) can export a KML file from logged GPS data. This gives you a map that exactly matches the driver's line.

Zooming and Panning

  • Scroll to zoom the map.
  • Click and drag to pan.
  • Pinch on a touchpad to zoom.
  • Use the fit button in the dock toolbar to reset the view.
