Attach a track map image to a track so it appears in the Track Map dock.
Supported Formats
- PDF — vector maps from official circuit documentation. Best quality when zooming.
- SVG — scalable vector; renders crisply at any size.
- PNG / JPG — raster images from screenshots or scanned maps.
- KML / GeoJSON — GPS-derived outlines from data logger exports or online sources.
How To Add a Map File
- Open the Track Map dock (View → Track Map).
- Click the map selector at the top of the dock and choose Manage Maps.
- Click Add File and browse to your map image.
- Give it a name and click OK.
The map is now associated with the current track and appears immediately.
Using the Built-In Library
LapInsight includes maps for common circuits. In the map selector dropdown, choose Library to see what's available for the current track.
Adding from a KML/GeoJSON File
- In the map selector, choose Add KML/GeoJSON Overlay.
- Browse to the
.kmlor.geojsonfile. - LapInsight renders the GPS track outline as a vector overlay.
Tip: Most data loggers (AiM, MoTeC, VBox) can export a KML file from logged GPS data. This gives you a map that exactly matches the driver's line.
Zooming and Panning
- Scroll to zoom the map.
- Click and drag to pan.
- Pinch on a touchpad to zoom.
- Use the fit button in the dock toolbar to reset the view.
