Online Maps

Show a satellite view of the track when you are connected to the internet.

LapInsight can show a satellite view of the track when you have an internet connection.

Requirements

  • An active internet connection.

That's it. You don't need to enter an API key. LapInsight manages the map provider's access automatically — there's nothing to configure.

Showing the Satellite Map

  1. Open the Track Map dock.
  2. From the source switcher, choose the online satellite map source.

The satellite view loads automatically while you're online. There are no keys to set up and no settings to fill in.

Offline Behaviour

If the internet connection is unavailable, the online map will not load. LapInsight falls back to the last locally available map (PDF, SVG, or library map). There is no error shown during offline use — the map simply won't update.

If the online satellite source isn't available at all, it won't appear in the source switcher. In that case, use a local track map file instead.

Tip: For trackside use where Wi-Fi is unreliable, always have a PDF or SVG map attached to the track as a reliable fallback.
