Upload a video and its .lapi file

Add a recording to your library and attach its marker file in one step.

A .lapi file holds the lap markers and session details that go with a recording. When you upload a video and its matching .lapi file together, LapInsight reads the markers and session information and attaches them for you. There is no separate step to add markers afterward.

Before you start

  • Verify your email address first. Some upload features stay locked until you do.
  • Keep the video and its .lapi file together so you can select both.

Upload both files

  1. Open your dashboard and go to the upload area.
  2. Select the video file and its matching .lapi file together.
  3. Wait for the upload to finish. Larger videos take longer.

The markers and session details from the .lapi file attach automatically once processing finishes.

Confirm it worked

The video appears in your library with its lap markers in place. Open the video and you will see the markers along the timeline.

Upload without a .lapi file

You can upload a video on its own. It plays normally, just without lap markers. Add a .lapi file later by uploading the pair together.

Troubleshooting

  • The upload finished but there are no markers. Cause: the .lapi file may not have been selected alongside the video, or the two do not match. Fix: upload the video and its correct .lapi file together.
  • The upload seems stuck. Cause: a large file on a slow connection takes time, and a brief network drop can pause it. Fix: wait a little longer, then see Why is my upload stuck?.
