If a video file has been moved, renamed, or deleted outside LapInsight, it appears in the Video List with a warning icon.
Why Files Go Missing
- You moved the day's folder to a different drive.
- You renamed a file in Explorer.
- An external drive is disconnected.
- The data root path has changed (see General Settings).
Relinking a Missing File
- Right-click the missing video in the Video List.
- Choose Relink File.
- Browse to the new location of the file.
- Click Open. LapInsight updates its record and the video becomes available again.
Relinking Multiple Files
If an entire day's folder moved, use Relink All Missing from the Video List toolbar. LapInsight scans the folder you point to and matches files by name.
Archiving
If a file is intentionally moved to long-term storage:
- Right-click → Mark as Archived.
- LapInsight records the archive path and suppresses the missing-file warning.
- When you need the file back, reconnect the drive or copy it back, then Relink.
Deleting a Video Record
If the file is gone permanently and you don't need the record:
- Right-click the missing video → Remove from List.
- This removes the record from LapInsight's database. Notes with timestamps pointing to this video will still exist but the video link will no longer work.
