Session Notes is a rich text editor for coaching observations, linked to video timestamps.
Session Notes vs Video Description. Session Notes are private, rich text, and cover the whole session. If you instead want a short, plain-text caption for a single video that is shown to people you share it with, use Video Description in Review Mode.
Opening Session Notes
Click the notes icon in the sidebar, or press Ctrl+2.
Writing Notes
Click in the notes area and type. The toolbar provides basic formatting:
- Bold, italic, underline
- Bullet lists and numbered lists
- Headings
Tip: Keep notes concise — a short phrase at a timestamp is more useful than long paragraphs with no video reference.
Inserting Timestamps
A timestamp links a note to a specific point in your video.
- Start playing a video in Review Mode.
- When you reach the moment you want to reference, switch to Session Notes.
- Click the clock icon in the toolbar, or press Ctrl+T.
- A timestamp is inserted at the cursor. It shows the video position (e.g.
[00:02:34]).
Click any timestamp later to jump the video to that exact moment.
Tip: You can also insert a quick note directly from Review Mode using Ctrl+N without leaving the video view.
Pasting Images
Paste a screenshot or photo directly into the notes with Ctrl+V. Images are embedded in the note and saved with it. You can also drag an image file in from Explorer.
Multiple Drivers
If a day has more than one driver, tabs appear at the top of Session Notes — one per driver. Each driver's notes are separate.
Exporting Notes
Notes are included automatically in Session Reports. To export just the notes as plain text, use File → Export Session Notes.
